Atul earned his Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems in 1990 from Park University, Missouri and his Masters in Business Administration in 2004 from University of Phoenix . He is also ITIL Support & Restore Practitioner certified, and earned his State of Arizona Project Management Certification through the office of the State CIO, Government Information Technology Agency in 2008.

Atul began his Information Technology (IT) career in the United States Air Force in 1986 as a Systems Analyst. Atul has since worked for a number of Federal, State and local government agencies and has gained experience in IT Operations Management, Project Management, Service Support and Service Delivery.

After returning from his deployment to Afghanistan in 2007, where he served as an IT Manager, Atul began leading the Information Services Division (ISD) initiative to incorporate ITIL Service Support and Service Delivery best practices in an effort to meet business needs and goals. He is also responsible for implementing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) software to get a holistic view of the Data Center, including hardware, applications and end users, while mapping the relationships between them.

To date he has successfully implemented the Service Desk function and the Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management processes. He is currently implementing the CMDB software and developing the Configuration Management process.

Atul is an active member of the IT Service Management Forum (itSMF) and serves on the State of Arizona ITIL Advisory Board.
