Larry Chapman Mainframe Technical Support Manager

Larry Chapman directs the mainframe technical support staff. His
responsibilities include the system support teams:
- Operating System (z/OS, Compilers)
- Database Management Systems (IMS,DB2,Datacom)
- Communications Server (TCPIP,VTAM)
- Performance and Automation (Operations Support, System Monitors)
These teams are responsible for providing and maintaining the Z-series computing
platform for ADOA customers. They also assist new customers with migration
activities to complete a smooth and timely transition to the ADOA Data Center.
Larry began his IT career in 1971 as a computer operator in the mortgage banking
field. He has also worked in computer service bureau, manufacturing and
insurance. Before moving to Arizona, Larry was with Credit Life Companies of
Springfield, Ohio for 13 years. He started as a computer operator and spent time
as a Shift Supervisor, Operations Manager and Director of the Data Center. After
leaving the Data Center, Larry served as Director of Contingency Planning where
he was responsible for establishing and testing disaster recovery and business
continuation plans and as Director of Property Administration which encompassed
building operations, records management and many administrative service
functions. Larry moved to Arizona in 1990 and has worked in County and State
government IT departments assisting with Computer Operations, Applications
Development and Technical Support. He has been with ADOA mainframe technical
support for over 10 years supporting the z/OS Operating systems and has been a
key member of project teams implementing new processors, tape libraries and DASD
subsystems.
